What Is Columella Correction?
Columella correction is surgery that corrects a columella that hangs down or looks thick.
A hanging columella or drooping alae can be visually mistaken for alar retraction or make alar retraction look worse.

Flexible Nasal Tip
The membranous septum between the soft columella and the septal cartilage is preserved so each can move independently, allowing the tip to move freely.
The tip can be rotated upward
Because the apex of the alar cartilage, the columella and the septal cartilage are partly separated and the tip is supported with minimal fixation, the tip can move up, down and side to side.
How far the tip can move depends on how much it is raised and on skin elasticity.
Natural columella shape and thickness
Sehyun uses a split tip support technique, so the columella does not thicken and the skin border between the columella and nostrils stays as it was, for a natural look.
In addition, after surgery the area under the tip does not drop and the tip does not look elongated.

Q.After tip surgery with a septal extension graft or columellar strut, my columella got thicker and my tip seems to have dropped!
With a septal extension graft or columellar strut, over time the columella can thicken or drop, making the surgery noticeable. As the columella protrudes, the tip can look slightly elongated and bulbous.

Q.I've heard that after tip surgery you can't push your nose up into a "piggy nose." Is that true?
