With a long nose, hump nose or crooked nose, is a pretty shape all that matters?
I'm having surgery because I don't like the shape of my nose, so isn't it enough if it just looks good?

With long nose surgery, what matters is whether the shape and form
are still maintained 5 or 10 years later. Over time,
the tip may turn up or drop again, among other changes,
so it is too early to call a result successful based on how it looks just 2–3 months after surgery.

What Is Long Nose (Drooping Tip) Correction?

A nose that is too long for the proportions of the face or has a downward-drooping tip is sometimes described as an "arrow nose."

Various methods can be used for a long nose depending on how much it droops;
usually the alar (lower lateral) cartilage of the tip is repositioned and the direction of the columella corrected
to adjust the length of the tip to suit the proportions of the face.

CASE 1

When the alar cartilage of the tip droops downward

When the alar cartilage droops toward the lip, Dr. Yoo Hyun-seok's cartilage repositioning method
rotates the alar cartilage upward.

This preserves the tip's flexibility while creating a stable support structure so the tip does not drop again over time.

CASE 2

When the septal cartilage extends too far down

Septal cartilage is the cartilage between the nostrils.
In some cases it overgrows and makes the nose look long.

In this case, part of the septal cartilage can be trimmed to adjust
the length of the nose to suit the proportions of the face. A hanging columella can also be corrected,
and Dr. Yoo Hyun-seok's cartilage repositioning method raises and defines the tip so that
it does not drop again over time.

Effective correction of short noses and long noses with drooping tips

For a short nose, the cartilage is repositioned downward to lengthen the tip, and for a long nose with a drooping tip, the cartilage is repositioned upward to effectively adjust the length of the tip.
