We first check whether the nasal bone or the septal cartilage is bent
and plan the correction based on the cause.

What Is Crooked Nose Correction?

A crooked nose is, as the name suggests, a nasal bridge that bends to one side. There are two causes: a bent nasal bone,
or a bent septal cartilage, the wall between the two nostrils (deviated septum).
When correcting a crooked nose, osteotomy is performed if the bone is the cause, and if the septal cartilage is the cause, surgery is planned to correct and reinforce the cartilage.

A crooked nose also requires attention to function. If you have nasal congestion or rhinitis,
a deviated septum is often present, so in this case you can expect functional improvement
as well as a change in appearance with a straight bridge.

Types of Crooked Nose

Normal nose

The nasal bone and tip form a straight line.

C-shaped crooked nose

Bent in a C-shaped curve from the bridge to the tip

S-shaped crooked nose

The most difficult type to correct:

bent in an S shape from the upper bridge to the tip

CASE

CASE 1

When the bend is mild

The side that protrudes is shaved or trimmed,
and cartilage or dermis is harvested to fill the depressed area and even out the contour.

CASE 2

When the bridge implant is crooked (revision)

This is when a previously inserted implant was not properly secured, or was fixed incorrectly from the start, so the bridge looks crooked. In this case, the implant is repositioned or replaced.

CASE 3

When the nasal bone is bent

When the nasal bone is bent, osteotomy is used to restore left-right symmetry.
At the same time, we check the alar cartilage, upper lateral cartilage and septal cartilage that make up the nose for any abnormalities, and correct them together if there is a problem.

CASE 4

When the septal cartilage is bent and the upper lateral cartilages are asymmetrical

When the upper part of the septal cartilage, the wall dividing the two nostrils, is bent (deviated septum) and the upper lateral cartilages differ in shape,
the upper lateral cartilages and the upper part of the septum are separated and repositioned to align with the center.

CASE 5

When the septal cartilage is severely bent

The bent portion of the cartilage is removed, and the septum is straightened.
The removed cartilage is then used as a batten graft to correct the deviation.

SEHYUN AESTHETIC CLINIC

Sehyun's surgical results are backed by
Dr. Yoo Hyun-seok's 20+ years of experience as a physician.

Performing rhinoplasty for 20 years or more means treating a truly wide range of cases.
One patient came to us for a 7th revision after other clinics said surgery would be difficult,
and others came to us with recurring problems after a clinic had used rib cartilage for what was only their 2nd revision.

I don't believe any case is impossible.
Some cases, however, need more research and careful thought.
For stable, consistent results, Sehyun keeps researching and studying every day, and performs each surgery carefully based on a plan.

Q&A

Q.What should I check when choosing a plastic surgery clinic for crooked nose correction?
A.

A crooked nose can be caused by a bend in the nasal bone itself or in the septal cartilage (a deviated septum). If the cause is the bone, osteotomy is planned; if it is the septal cartilage, surgery to correct and reinforce the cartilage is planned. Whether the deviation is C-shaped or S-shaped also changes the surgical plan, so check whether the cause is diagnosed before surgery.

Sehyun Plastic Surgery is a single-doctor clinic where Chief Surgeon Dr. Yoo Hyun-seok, a board-certified plastic surgeon, personally handles the diagnosis, surgical planning, surgery and postoperative follow-up for a crooked nose. Consultations for revision surgery to correct a nose that became crooked because of a shifted implant are also provided by the same surgeon.

Q.If I have nasal congestion, what is checked before crooked nose surgery?
A.

When there is nasal congestion, we assess the deviation of the septal cartilage along with the internal structure of the nose. The correction method depends on whether the nasal bone or cartilage is bent, and surgery is planned with both appearance and breathing in mind.

Q.Where can I see crooked nose surgery reviews?
A.

You can find actual reviews in the Real Surgery Reviews list for Rhinoplasty under the Before & After menu. Log in to your member account to view full reviews and photos.

When reading reviews, it is a good idea to look at the shape of the bend, accompanying symptoms such as nasal congestion and what was corrected. The surgical method depends on the degree of the bend and the internal structure of the nose, and results vary from person to person.
